I am really passionate about educating parents on their pregnancy & birth, and the transformative nature it bestows. The thing about births is that they are beautiful, exciting, and completely UNPREDICTABLE. As a planner, I had a strong vision of how I wanted my birth story to unfold; however, as a first time mom, I was clueless about how to make that vision a reality. This is why I needed Renée, not just any birth doula, but Renée.
Writing this six months postpartum, it brings tears of joy to my eyes thinking about the best day of my life when we welcomed our little girl into the world and what Renée did for my family that day.
Not only did Renée help me labor at home and keep me calm as my mindset quickly turned from drive and focus into nervousness and panic, not only did Renée come with us to the hospital twice as they continued to send me back home, not only did Renée advocate for me at the hospital knowing what my wishes and preferences were as things started to deviate from my plan, not only did Renée provide additional support to my concerned husband, but she literally held my hand every single step of the way – through the good and challenging. Because of her expertise, Renée gave me the greatest chance at having the natural birth I was hoping to experience even more so than the doctors and nurses. I can’t reiterate enough how much I needed Renée, and was so fortunate to have her by my side.
I love my birth story and I know the reason I feel the way that I do is because Renée was such a huge part of it.
