I can’t describe in words what an incredible source of support, encouragement, and knowledge Renée was throughout my birthing journey. 

That journey, especially for a new mother, can be extremely confusing and scary. From the very beginning, Renée made me feel secure, and she opened my eyes to the process in a way no one else had. She made me question what I truly wanted and needed in my journey and educated me to find those answers. 

A natural labor and birth was one of the most empowering experiences of my life, and it was made possible by the care and tools Renée provided me (and my husband). She was there for me when I went into labor in the middle of the night, guided me through every hurdle that came my way, and comforted me during my moments of doubt. Renée was by my side the entire way. Even after the birth, she made sure my son and I were properly taken care of. 

Renée will forever be a special person in my family’s life.

Having Renée join us on our journey is something we will always be grateful for. Not only was she a supportive person in any decisions we made but she was the best person you can ask for to advocate for you during your pregnancy & labor! 

For instance, I remember having several discussions about whether I needed an induction since I was getting closer to 
my due date. But when I spoke to Renée about this, she made different recommendations on what I could try to minimize the need for one. Honestly, it was such a blessing because without her I would’ve probably listened to the doctors and scheduled the induction for a much earlier date, believing this was the only option I had. Instead, I was able to hold off and was able to give birth without one! 

I was also glad to have Renée by my side when I was giving birth because all of the nurses had told me to relax when having a contraction. As you can imagine, no matter how hard you try it’s not something that comes easily (even with practicing deep breathing & meditation). Having Renée provide positive affirmation, suggesting to go take a warm shower, sit on the birthing ball, etc. were all so helpful because it gave me the chance to try to focus on something else while waiting for the contraction to pass by. 

But the best part for me was while I was in active labor. Because of her helping me to use certain breathing techniques my son came out much quicker than expected (I was told to stop pushing because the doctor wasn’t even there yet)! So while I’m sure my husband would’ve been amazing at helping me all on his own, I have to say we were BOTH ecstatic to have Renée on our team so he could be there and experience this journey with me instead of worrying about anything else.

Renée is such a compassionate human being who is still checking up on me to this day and I could never thank her enough for being there throughout my pregnancy and even now. 

If you’re even considering for a split second whether or not to have a doula on your team, you should 100% go for it and pick Renée!

Like many women, I knew I wanted a vaginal delivery and for my baby to arrive earth-side safe and healthy. It wasn’t until my first OB appointment that I realized there would be many other decisions to make during pregnancy and that I needed much more education and support to accomplish that ultimate goal.

From the moment I met Renée, I knew she was going to be instrumental in my journey as a first-time Mom. She was compassionate, strong, and extremely knowledgeable. She spent a lot of time getting to know my husband and I, and for the remainder of my pregnancy, helped me delve into the birth experience and advocate for myself. 

Renée and I remained in contact regularly, and she made herself available to talk through the outcome of every test, OB appointment, etc. so that I could process my subsequent thoughts and emotions in a healthy way.
 
Although there were some twists and turns during labor, I felt prepared and confident in every decision we made and am grateful to have had Renée by my side. 

As soon as the day after my daughter was born, my husband and I agreed we would never give birth without a doula 
(hopefully Renee!) present. 

Her impact can’t be overstated, and we will forever cherish our first delivery experience.

From the moment we met Renée, she showed immense compassion and instilled confidence in us for the journey ahead. She was always available for us with any questions that we had throughout my pregnancy. When we reached out to her regarding such intense gas pain that I was experiencing one day, she suggested an essential oil for me to use (which I thankfully had). The essential oil relieved the pain within minutes after hours of pain! She knew exactly what to use to help me, and I was so grateful.

My labor ended up being very, very long. Renée’s ability to remain calm and supportive for both me and my husband during unexpected hurdles was truly remarkable. She offered great suggestions, guiding us through each step with positivity despite the hurdles.

After hours and hours of very slow dilation, Renée worked some exercises on me with the support of my husband, that worked like magic. 

Within an hour, I was finally able to start pushing!! It was incredible! 

Once our baby was born, she made sure that we got skin to skin immediately. Renée also made sure that as soon as it was possible, my baby and I were able to establish a proper breastfeeding latch, which was successful and feeding has been a breeze for us ever since. 

We are forever grateful to have had Renée by our side through the toughest but most beautiful moment of our lives!”
